Summer of 2011

I realize I am a little behind on blog updates.   Here's the Summer catch up...
June was the end of school and awards ceremony... Goodbye 1st and 3rd grades.

Sidney got perfect attendance...

Lily was the only student in her class to get the top grade on her EOG in Math and 1 of 2 students for EOG in reading...

We had a new neighbor move in....

We bought a crappy pool from Walmart.com that ended up a big disappointment and was returned after one weekend, lots of wasted water  and a dead patch of grass later.

With 2 girls in the house, there is plenty of impromptu posing that goes on...

Lily lost her 8th  tooth...

Sidney went to a friend's birthday party at Chuckie Cheese

Sidney turned 7...we had a small party with neighbor kids and a couple of Sidney's friends from school.   We also took the opportunity to go to the beach for a long weekend.

The girls learned to boogie board...

Opening presents and friends...

Lily, Thor and Krissi stopped in for a surprise lunch on their way back from VA.  The girls were so happy to see their BFFs again!

We surprised the girls with their first concert in June - KATY PERRY

When pool idea #1 didn't pan out, we opted for Plan B..a real pool.  Scott built a deck for it and as you can see everyone has been escaping the heat in the pool.

The kids don't get much of a break between grades, just a couple of weeks in June and then it is back to school.   Lucky for them, they get to track out in September for 3 weeks.

Sidney entered 2nd grade..

Lily started 4th grade..

My models...

Lily turned 9 in August.   She opened her presents from us in the morning, then had a swim party w/ neighborhood friends and a school friend, followed by a sleepover.

The girls did "make-overs"

Kyla and Sidney (a.k.a. Jedi princess)

Lily looks way too old with make-up on, I am already having nightmares of the teen years.

The sleepover crew...

I went  to the Sheryl Crow/Kid Rock concert...

Hurricane Irene came to visit...
