So, one afternoon this week, Scott looked out and found this baby fox "grazing" in our backyard. Its mom has lived here (probably in the woods behind our house) since we moved in 2 years ago. I came in contact w/ her the first week we moved in, when I walked out on the back patio and she was standing right there. She walks from our woods, to the other side of the street's woods almost every evening. Everyone in our immediate part of the neighborhood has seen her. She doesn't seem to be scared of humans. Anyway, recently she was spotted walking around w/ babies. This must be one of the them.
Another day, the kids were playing on Krissi's patio (next door) and one of the fox was walking toward the kids. She thought it was a dog and yelled at it, then realized it was a fox. I guess they have adapted to people, because there were 5 kids playing loudly and it wasn't scared.
The problem is that there are rabies reports everywhere around the Triangle, but Animal Control and NC Wildlife won't do anything about it until someone is bitten, because fox are native to the area. So, we invaded their territory, therefore they are protected. All that we can do is educate the kids to not go close to it, yell at them and then run inside quickly.
Have to admit, it is kind of cute though...

Sidney took this picture of Tofu. He's about 13 years old now. He's been such a great cat (aside from the scratching on the carpet and puking in various places...)

Lily at her princess best. She's into putting her own hair up in many fashions now.

Sidney beaming after a day at school. She is full of so many stories when she gets home. It's fun to hear her enthusiasm and to experience it through her eyes.

The
Tour de France is on, so needlesstosay, this has been a common site at our house lately...

Until later...
