Track Out

Well, today is the last day of track out for Lily. 1 more "semester" and she'll be finished up w/ First grade and then it's on to Second and my baby Sidney will be going to school .... She just said this morning how excited she was that she was going. I guess seeing Lily go and listening to her talk about her adventures, friends, etc. has been hard for Sidney and now she is ready to go have her own fun. I am happy and sad at the same time. I am happy that she's passing into a new stage of life, but sad because it symbolizes an end to the past 5 years of having babies and toddlers around the house. Soon they'll be hanging out w/ their friends and not wanting to be seen w/ their mom.... Ok, let's not go there - 1 step at a time...

We had some fun during track out. Last weekend we took the girls down to the NC History Museum and saw the Pirate Exhibit. It was very cool. Lots of artifacts recovered from the shipwreck off the coast of NC that is believed to be Blackbeard's ship Queen Anne's Revenge.
Sidney is really into pirates, so she loved it, but was disappointed that there wasn't a real pirate there. Sunday the girls and I went down to Marbles and had a good time at Wild Water Weekend, which did have a real pirate - Captain Clueless. He led the kids on a fun treasure hunt. They also made jellyfish and shark hats at a craft table, touched several kinds of underwater creatures at the Aquarium Touch Tank and played like crazy with everything else there.

Scott has taken them to the park, dinosaur museum and other things during the last 3 weeks.
He also has had them working in our garden, that much to my surprise seems to be peeking through the ground. I really thought it was too early to plant veggies in February, but what do I know, right?

Enough said - here's some pics...
